Date 6 – 8 October Place Stockholm, Sweden Enter before 30 September to ordinary fee at this webpage Zooming to CyprusMany years ago the conquerors landed on Cyprus on their way from Israel. On the first of July this year it happened again. On foredeck of a Bavaria, which had sailed from Tel Aviv, laid a Zoom8 waiting to be launched and tried out by a handful skilled youth sailors from the Limassol Nautical Club. Youngsters and their parents gathered around this most peculiar looking dinghy, a big racer in mini format, wondering what it could be good for. After some hesitation one of the kids asked if he could have a try and of he went. As there was no coach boat at hand he was to keep inside the waterfront and this short trip gave the rest of the group courage to take it out for a spin. During evening it was settled for a real try during the next days Opti-training races.

The board of IZCA and the technical committee wish to inform all Zoom 8 class sailors following: According to present affective class rules (issue 6 B) concerning compass (C.1.3 a and b) there is allowed to use one magnetic compass or electronic compass that can display only magnetic course. Additional functions on the compass or equal equipment witch can show course calculations, tacking angels including memory functions, etc are not allowed onboard of the Zoom 8 dinghies.
2006-08-03 European Championship is now endedAfter 4 days of very good racing we can now congratulate our new champions. In this championship it will be a double gold to Denmark. Denmark continues to collect medals in these years’ championships. A few days ago Henriette S Friselv become Nordic Champion and now she also can title her European Champion just before last year Worlds Champion Maria Rudskaya from Russia. Henritte was unbeatable this time. The winner in the boy class is Christian Andersen also from Denmark. The last race was conclusive. Andrev Zheleznov needed to be before Christian and better then 7 th. This time Christian sailed like a winner. He beat all including the top two sailors from last year Worlds, Thaarup and Kasatov. >> Read more New Nordic Champions The Nordic Junior Championship was sailed in Finland and we have now new Nordic Champions. The winner in the girl fleet is: Henriette Frislev from Denmark Just now the Nordic Youth Sailing Championship for the Zoom 8 is started in Åbo, Finland. The event is open for nationals or ordinary residents of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. Total there are 77 entries made. We will obvious get our first indication on which sailors we will see in a front position also during the coming championships.
